Introduction

Hello, I’m Michael Caven, MS and I’m a therapist counselor at Psychologist Vietnam in Da Nang. Although I have over 30 years of corporate and entrepreneurial experience, my main passion is psychology. I earned a Master’s of Science in Education (a blend of psychology, social work and counseling) from University of Dayton, Ohio in the early 1990’s.

At the time, I worked with community mental health centers, serving diverse populations, including severely mentally disabled, LGBT youth, couples, individuals and criminal offenders. My specialties includes: depression, bipolar, personality disorders, ADHD, addictions and compulsions. My approach comes from the humanist Carl Rogers—unconditional personal regard for my clients and their personal growth. 

After a long and successful business career in USA, I am semi-retired in Da Nang where I am a Business Communications lecturer at Da Nang University of Economics. With the post-COVID relaunch of Psychologist Vietnam I am ready to support new clients in a therapeutic setting with short-term therapy solutions as well as longer term work, if needed.
